I am an artist working in photography, installation, and collaboration with the landscape. My works are an investigation of personal experience, shelter, community, and rural economies. By exploring the interactions between people and the land, especially in the South and Appalachia, I make work that deals with recreation and play, destruction and construction, and meditation and spirituality amongst the environment. My work often tell a story about the effects of climate disruption and challenges the idea of the vista. These works focus on questions of idealism, comfort, politics, and the American dream… I’m interested in the materiality of image making and how transformation can take place. I currently live and work in Lexington, where I am in my third year of the MFA program at the University of Kentucky, School of Art and Visual Studies.
